On the 12 June 2014, the House of Commons Library issued a ‘Standard Note’ on changes to DSAs. This briefing document supplies an overview of ‘areas of concern and includes debate and comment on the proposals’ with a view to informing Members of Parliament in support of their parliamentary duties.
The Standard Note also reports parliamentary debate and Parliamentary Questions (PQs) made to the government in the House of Commons and House of Lords. Questions and answers relate to Equalities Impact Assessment, the preparedness of higher education institutions to fulfil their duties to students following changes to DSA, and the particular impact on students with dyslexia and SpLDs. The Standard Note also contains information about Early Day Motion 48, tabled by David Blunkett MP on 5th June.
